The Keen to Clean Group is leading its management revolution by also having the company ISO certified in not just one but three categories through DAS Certification. The certifications come as the group continues to expand and reach new targets, assuring that the system backing it up is as good as it can be and continues to grow
ISO certification is an important business acknowledgement as it is a thorough audit of the documentation, practices and goals of the business on multiple business fronts. Only businesses that have contingencies, follow legal and protocol obligations and allow for accommodation of new ones later can hope to pass, and to achieve three simultaneously is unusual. The categories were ISO – 9001 – 2015 (Quality), ISO 14001 – 2015 (Environmental), and ISO 18001 – 2007 (OHS&S), the three integral pillars of the Keen to Clean Group brand’s success.
CEO Rohit Chand was excited to have the certifications approved after months of preparations. “In business it is all good and well to talk about what you do and how you manage; it is only through objective outside analysis that we can say that we are really doing the right thing.” “With these certifications we are showing there is a sound and professional backend to our services and we know that will lead to bigger and better things going forward.”

The award ceremony was held on Saturday 21st of November at Peninsula in Docklands and was attended by Australia’s most prominent Indian-Australian businessmen.
The IEC is a group of business professionals and experts of Indian origin who pool their collect ive knowledge and resources to help further legitimise Indians in the Australian business scene. Celebrating their 5th awards ceremony, the awards are a very prestigious commemoration of the most integral Indian players at a time where the business sphere is at its most hostile. The Young Executive award in particular is important as they identify the people who will lead the future Indian Australian business world.
Brijesh Purohit is the Managing Director of Keen to Clean and the head of AstraCrop, a construction company. He has dedicated his work life to advocating strong business principles and support over short term profits and has spoken at multiple events on multiple business topics. Keen to Clean Group has received many business awards over its history, currently residing as one of the most celebrated and acknowledged cleaning companies in Australian history. His Indian heritage an integral part of how he sees himself as an Australian, Brijesh has played a very prominent role in the Australian Indian community.
“Business recognition is the cornerstone for legitimacy in the eyes of our customers, that is something I wholeheartedly believe,” said Brijesh. “But there is something particularly moving about being recognised for my contributions to the Indian community in particular.”
Despite that not much is known about why it starts and many people ignore or are unaware of the symptoms for a long time before they get it looked into. Asthma left unchecked can be a very heavy hit to your quality of life and potentially more serious if an attack is bad enough.
To help curb that and bring more attention to asthma as an issue the 1st to the 7th of September is National Australian Asthma Week.
During this awareness week people are invited to assess their asthma, whether it be determining if the relievers or medcations you take are sufficient or even if you have recently been displaying symptoms of asthma despite not suffering it in the past. It is important to understand that asthma symptoms often change without warning across a lifespan, meaning people who have not suffered it in a long time can suddenly face it anew and vice versa.
What to Look Out For
Some important symptoms to look out for are obvious things like frequent shortness of breath even when you aren’t necessarily doing activity, irritating wheezing that doesn’t seem associated with a cold, the classic ‘vice like sensation’ on your chest, and probably most significantly that these sorts of things pop up intermittently across multiple days and months ongoing.
It is also important to remember that even if you have been diagnosed you need to keep track of your symptoms. Many people don’t tend to get as many attacks once they become adults, but having an emergency treatment as prescribed by your doctor on your person or in important locations like at work or at home is always advised no matter how confident you are that you won’t get an attack.
Most of all though it is important that you see your doctor periodically regarding your asthma, particularly when your symptoms suddenly change.
Obviously keeping environments as dust free as possible is a good way to help mitigate asthma attacks occurring frequently. This can only be achieved through regular dusting and vacuuming.
This is particularly true for offices and schools and other buildings that have a mixture of a lot of traffic bringing in dust and dirt and kicking it around and a lot of permanent fixtures like shelves and cubicles that don’t get shifted often and will become very dusty very quickly.
As part of our ongoing cleaning services, dusting and vacuuming is the cornerstone of maintaining a comfortable work or living space. Besides helping to reduce the likelihood of asthma it also has an effect on the smell and appearance of a room.
So contact Keen to Clean today if you are interested in setting up a quote for regular cleaning with a focus on dusting and vacuuming that will help make your workplace safer for asthma sufferers and more pleasant for everyone in general
The next chapter of the Keen to Clean India operation has begun with a major joint venture with the addition of new management and another story of how those that really are keen to clean are willing to give it their all. A former India operation franchisee and her husband decided that the time was right and the sky was the limit and bought stock in the company becoming the Directors of the India operation for Keen to Clean.Serving for two years as one of the groups most successful franchisees, Depali Parikh saw the potential in the group and the opportunity for growth. Her supportive husband, Vihang Parikh, was a local business owner himself before deciding with her that it would be best for the two of them to go all in. As of the 1st of April 2015 the team officially took their place as Directors of the Keen to Clean India operation and they now focus on the expansion of the business and overlooking general operations.
The Keen to Clean India operation began in 2011 as a unique international expansion for the group. Previously the overall operation was overlooked by the Managing Direct of the Keen to Clean Group who frequently travelled internationally to facilitate it. With this new dedicated Director team the operation is much more autonomous and the growth of the group both internationally and locally has seen a massive boom as a result.
“With their support the Keen to Clean Group overall will have over a thousand members by the end of 2016 at our current rate of expansion. There is potential for it to be even higher the more people decide to invest back into the group,” said Brijesh Purohit, Managing Director of Keen to Clean. “It is a very exciting time for the group but just as importantly for our customers.”
Those interested in a Keen to Clean Group franchise locally or as part of the Indian operation can contact the group at.

Migrating to Australia just months before September 11th 2001, facing prejudice and a lack of support only to start a business that would go on to make millions and support hundreds of Australians every day. This is the Keen to Clean Group’s story and it is one of the 12 businesses over three categories announced as finalists for the 2014 Ethnic Business Awards. The final result for the Indigenous, Small and Medium Business awards will be announced during a ceremony at the Brisbane Hilton Hotel on the 9th of November.
Established in 1988 and marking its 26th year running, the Ethnic Business Awards was established to recognise the unique hardships many migrant business owners had to face while highlighting the positives they represent for Australian business. The awards are extremely prestigious in the Australian business world and the award ceremonies have been hosted and attended by many of the biggest business and political professionals in the country, including both Former Prime Minister Julia Gillard and current Prime Minister Tony Abbott for the 25th awards last year. The awards are judged by a panel of 4 professional icons from various fields and the finalists are chosen from a multitude of entries, making it a commendable result in itself just to be a finalist.
Nominated as a finalist in the Small Business category, the Keen to Clean Group fully embraces its roots as a business started by a migrant and now permanent resident of Australia. Briijesh Purohit, the Managing Director and the one to establish the business, strikes a balance between the sense of hardwork and determination he grew up with in India and his values as a modern Australian and businessman. Winning multiple business awards over its history, the group has had a tangible effect on the business and franchise practices in Australia.
“My start in Australia as a migrant had a major impact on how hard it was to start a business and have an impact on the business world,” said Brijesh Purohit. “But I think awards like this show that despite that, in Australia it is possible to be successful if you are sensible in the way you run your business and make sure you do things properly.”
“I hope that doing so well in this award gives people a new insight into Keen to Clean and helps them appreciate that we are a business that knows that sometimes you need a hand with things. We are always there to help.”
The 2014 Ethnic Business Awards will be announced on the 9th of November 2014 and further information can be found via their website at http://www.ethnicbusinessawards.com/. Keen to Clean – Cleaning Flexifranchise Gets Keen Reception:
Just months after launching its exciting new Cleaning Flexifranchise line the Keen to Clean Group has already been nominated as a finalist in the 2013 NAB FCA Excellence in Franchising Awards. The group was chosen as a finalist amongst many high calibre entries for the Franchise Innovation category, which celebrates revolutions to the field. The final announcement on the winners will be revealed on October 22nd.
The Franchise Council of Australia is the central representative party for franchise support and reform. As franchising becomes increasingly popular and pivotal to the Australian business climate the FCA assures that all businesses undertaking a franchise system are able to get accurate and timely support and advice. The NAB FCA Excellence in Franchising Awards are thus a very prestigious award, judged by industry experts and leaders. Amongst the awards Franchise Innovation represents the future of franchising in the country, and as everyone clamours to find their niche it has become one of the most hotly contested recognitions.
The Keen to Clean Groups entry for the Cleaning Flexifranchise system was selected amongst the best innovators in the country for its progressive new look at the industry. Allowing a low investment wall while offering the full security and support of a franchise system the Cleaning Flexifranchise is designed to bridge the gap between contractors and franchisees in a way that previously was not possible, allowing reconciliation of investment in as short as a year. This could have obvious uses not just in the cleaning industry but abroad.
“I am thrilled that the Cleaning Flexifranchise is receiving such strong recognition so quickly,” said Brijesh Purohit, Managing Director of Keen to Clean Group. “We’ve only had it rolled out for a quarter now and the reception from investors has far exceeded what we expected, now the industry is acknowledging what people are seeing in this option.”
“As someone who has been a contractor in the past and had to scrounge everything I could to start a business I know that it can be daunting investing. We want to take out the risk and particularly the timeframe that you are stuck with. We very much invite anyone wanting to make that step to consider us a good starting point,” he said.
Keen to Clean: Management Team L-R: Ketan Khant, Jignesh Prajapati, Brijesh Purohit, Sylvia Abela and Rohit Chand
The Keen to Clean family has added another face to its central management team with the appointment of a new Business Development Manager for Victoria and New South Wales, Sylvia Abela. Charged with sourcing and expanding the commercial operations of group while helping to refine its business practices it represents an exciting new chapter for the Keen to Clean team, being the recent addition to the existing strong team.
Sylvia has spent her career as a manager and contractor of several successful cleaning companies for more than 25 years. Dedicated to quality services and a genuine desire to help people she is also an experienced mother who won’t ever back down. It is believed this mixture of enthusiasm and empathy will bring a new element to the group and she already has exciting plans for the Keen to Clean Group in the near future.
On the importance of a good Business Development Manager Brijesh Purohit, Managing Director of Keen to Clean, believes: ‘While many will only see the role as being in aid of expansion it is important to understand that with this new position the rest of our existing team can now focus even harder on their own specialised tasks. This translates as improved efficiency, the ability to explore new avenues, and in general the continued refinement of the way the group does its business.”
“At the end of the day any decisions or additions we make are to further our mission of providing an exemplary service to our customers,” he said. “We think people will see the benefits sooner than they expect.”
Proud of the heritage of the Managing Directors and their birth and start in India the Keen to Clean Group has always sought to be an exemplary and contemporary Australian business. The Group has received accolades from multiple different prestigious business awards but last week the Group received an honour that was very close to heart and home by taking home the Best Small Business category for the influential Indian Executive Club [IEC] 2013 Business Awards. Attending the ceremony, which had former Prime Minister John Howard in attendance, the Group also received finalist positions in two other categories.
The Indian Executive is an influential business magazine that focuses on the state of business of and between India and Australia. As both countries form stronger ties more than ever it is an area of business that is maturing and legitimising. Recognition from these experts demonstrates that a company is taking strides in changing both the performance and the perceptions people have of Indian run businesses in Australia and abroad.
The Keen to Clean Group is a typically multicultural Australian business but with that the Groups management has never forgotten their origins. Supporting community events and helping immigrants find stable long term work, the Group has been an important part of Indian business for some time. Thanks to these efforts, and perhaps to reinforce them, the group was able to walk away with the multiple awards and a renewed sense of purpose.
“There are perceptions of Indians and of cleaners that are negative, especially when put together, that we have strived to change,” said Brijesh Purohit, Managing Director of Keen to Clean. “Be it through offering superior and reliable cleaning services or through a managerial system that gets the attention of experts, we want to show that a business is about what it produces, not who produces it.”
“I am Australian through and through but part of that is acknowledging and supporting where you came from. I hope to do more work in this area and more than anything am thankful that this is the place I get to do it,” he said.
Keen to Clean Group is available for any enquiries or support you might need. Contact email@example.com or call 1300 737 978 anytime to organise a quote or make a booking.
Keen to Clean Group represented at the Sydney Franchise Expo last weekend: franchise expansion on the agenda. Further expansion into the Sydney Region, to better facilitate a wider range of booking areas, was the primary focus of the expo for the group. The group provided information packs and various special vouchers to those who were willing to drop by and have a chat. This appearance at the expo marks another example of just how seriously the group takes their promise to expand for the benefit of their customers.
The greater the spread of franchises across NSW, the easier the group can handle bookings in non typical locations. With Sydney spreading ever wider there is a significant increase in the number of far north and west suburbs needing cleaning. The group is keen to provide these services, so steady expansion is a necessity to continue to provide the kinds of standards that people have come to know and trust.
“Improving our cleaning standards is of course paramount,” said Rohit Chand, Franchise Recruitment Manager of Keen to Clean. “But we also have to have the manpower to meet the increasing demand. These trade shows are a great way of expanding and of keeping up to date with industry standards. It is a win for everyone.”
